Same shit different day for the Pats in Buffalo

The Pats being merely 5 point favorites yesterday was utterly offensive. Yes the game was in Buffalo. Yes they shut us out at Gillette a few weeks ago. Yes Rex Ryan’s chins could’ve had some magic up their sleeves. But Tom’s back, Shady’s out, Gronk’s at 100%, and there was absolutely, positively, undeniably no chance that the Patriots were going to lose this game.

“Same shit different day” is overused and cliche I guess, but that’s what it’s becoming with this team. Talk all week about how “oh this next opponent, that’s gonna be the one, Brady can’t keep up this pace, Rex has their number” blah blah blah and then a blowout. It’s literally getting boring. Good thing we have stuff like Gronk’s 69th TD, dildos on the field, and great glamour shots of Sexy Rexy to spice things up a bit in a town known for its spicy sauce and its actual lifestyle that’s anything but.

So now Brady is sitting at 1,319 yards, 12 TDs and no picks through four games. Is that good? If he keeps this up, he has to be in the MVP discussion, right? I understand he missed four games and that’s kind of an absurd argument in 99.9% of cases, but should this not be the exception? He’s literally scoring touchdowns at will out there. He’s a man among boys, both in age and skill level. It’s like getting a gamebreaker in NFL Street except it never goes away and it’s also incredibly good looking (if you didn’t get that reference we probably aren’t friends). I know this pace is hard to keep up and I’m not saying he’ll do it (although I’m not saying he won’t), but he’s definitely building a hell of a foundation for an MVP season. And how much of a slap in the face would that be for Goodell to finally get his way and make Brady sit 4 games then have the guy win the MVP and the Super Bowl the same season. Honestly think the dude would retire and/or jump off NFL HQ.

So the AFC is going to be an even bigger cake walk than we thought. 15-1 is looking more and more real every day, and the only team that kinda scares me come playoff time is the Oakland Raiders. They kill themselves with stupid penalties and mental lapses pretty often but that offense is the only one that even remotely compares to New England’s. Carr is emerging as a stud at QB, Amari Cooper is a top-10 receiver and Crabtree has played great as well, and Latavius Murray is legit out of the backfield. As things look right now we wouldn’t see them till the AFC Championship, so it’s way down the road, but something to keep an eye on.

So now we head to the dreaded bye week. The week we get stuck watching all these minor leaguers try to stack up to the big boys and just end up sorely disappointed. Naturally I’ll dive way too deep into my fantasy teams and gambling, so a week from this moment I’ll be hopelessly depressed and probably pretty broke. Happy bye week!
